In 2021, Shiba Inu branded itself as the Doge Killer and went on to touch a $50B market cap. Now, in 2026, the narrative shifts.
Kuro Inu isn't just another dog token — it's rooted in the original lore. Ryoshi, the creator of Shiba, posted about two Shibas. One of them was a Kuro: a black Shiba.
Ryoshi only ever made four posts on Medium. His final message — “Phase 1 Complete – Shiba has become decentralized” — featured not the main Shiba, but a black Shiba. A detail that has largely been overlooked.
There are only two dogs in that origin story: a Shiba, and a Kuro. Same visual identity as the original Shiba logo — but this time, it's the black Shiba.
